Rodney Wust
- Engineering Technician
- Site Supervision
- Site Quality Control
- Design Technician
Rodney is a site inspector with over 10 years’ experience in road and subdivision construction projects and a further 20 years in the building industry. Rodney has a vast skill set and a sound knowledge of TMR specifications and standard drawings, construction management and surveillance on road infrastructure and urban development projects. Rodney’s experience and high level of attention to detail provides him the ability to foresee potential risks to project delivery, quality, safety and the environment and maintains an open dialog with the contractors to overcome these issues.
Rodney has the ability to systematically work through project matters as recently displayed on Panorama Drive where he was pivotal to the development of the Head Contractors site specific QA process. Rodney was delegated this role due to his understanding of the specifications (which for this project where TMR based standards) and how quality documentation needs to be presented. Rodney provided guidance to develop their reporting, programing and compliance processes. Rodney facilitated the geotechnical inspection process and supported the contractor by developing and facilitating their ITP documentation procedures.
Rodney has many other skills which further expand his value as a civil roadworks inspector which include project design, drawing preparation and site compliance survey checks. Through Rodney’s heavy involvement in both residential and commercial subdivision development he has also developed a thorough understanding of the Ergon Construction Manual for many differing aspects of Ergon work, including underground supply, trenching and pad mount transformer sites.

Elcab Electrical
Elcab Electrical
Mike Neville – Director Elcab Electrical Pty Ltd
Michael has spent the last 35 years installing underground power reticulation on housing estates through to Substations, supply grids and power stations wherever required. He worked in London from 1996 – 2001 for Southern Electric Contracting at facilities ranging from Heathrow Airport, RAF West Drayton (Air Traffic Control UK) and Greenham Common to Stoke Mandeville Hospital and Brunel University. He has undertaken many projects in conditions and locations seldom experienced by most workers. From 2001 to 2004 he worked for Ergon Energy in Mackay maintaining and building their underground distribution network. From 2004 to the present, he has predominately worked in QLD working in the distribution side of the industry and in renewables.
The above has allowed Michael to encounter many very knowledgeable people and with every experience we have been able to take something positive away from each project, whether it be an insight to future technologies or seeing the way safety is changing construction methods and practices.
His first encounter with cable jointing was back in the early eighties (as was with his brother) as cable construction was evolving from paper lead type cables to the now standard XLPE cables. Along the way he was able to work on cables that are no longer produced such as Consac, Wavecon, HSL type cables and paperlead cables which are still in service today. Through training with various cable companies and accessory manufacturers we are now witnessing the evolution to the next stage, with a huge increase in voltage range and performance.
Michael holds me in good stead to enable future works undertaken, to be performed, safely, reliably and efficiently to produce the long-term outcomes the technology deserves.
